Trump’s Pledge to Grant Clemency for January 6 Rioters : What to Expect ?

Expectations are rising for President-elect Donald Trump to swiftly deliver on his promise to grant pardons to those involved in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, as reported by Bloomberg.
The report suggests that any early action on these pardons would set a significant precedent for how Trump might use his presidency to reward supporters and punish opponents.
Meanwhile, GOP Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has been lobbying Trump to pardon all individuals involved in the Capitol siege, including those who fought police and caused damage to the building. She argues that many have served enough time and insists that the justice system has been unequal.
Greene’s call comes as Trump previously indicated that he would issue pardons to the rioters within his first hours in office, possibly as soon as his first nine minutes on January 20.
The Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including a police officer, and injuries to over 140 law enforcement officers.
Over 1,570 people have been convicted or pleaded guilty in relation to the attack, with many receiving prison sentences ranging from a few days to over 20 years.
