Algeria Inaugurates New Consulate General in San Francisco to Strengthen Services for Diaspora

The Secretary of State to the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, chaired the ceremony for the official inauguration of the Algerian Consulate General in San Francisco, where he arrived on Tuesday, as part of a working visit to the United States of America, according to a ministry statement.

The opening of this new consular facility, in the presence of the Consul General and a group of representatives of the Algerian associative actors active within San Francisco Consular District, is part of “the commitment of Algeria’s highest authorities to optimally addressing the concerns of Algerians living abroad, bringing the administration closer to citizens and ensuring quality consular services.” It also constitutes “an additional step in the process of strengthening the network of our consular centers across the various regions of the world,” said the same source.

This event constituted “an opportunity for the Secretary of State to visit the various consular services and inspect their functioning and to closely examine the nature of the services provided for the benefit of our citizens falling within the jurisdiction of this Consulate General, which covers 19 states in the western part of the United States of America,” added the ministry statement.
