Over a Million Signatures on Petition to Suspend EU-Zionist Entity Association Agreement

The petition calling for the suspension of the Association Agreement between the European Union (EU) and the Zionist entity, spearheaded by La France Insoumise and its allies in the European Parliament, surpassed one million signatures on Tuesday.
“In three months, we have collected the one million signatures needed to compel the Commission to act on suspending the EU-Zionist entity agreement! This is historic!” stated La France Insoumise.
“Keep signing and sharing the petition to ensure that the European Commission fulfills its obligation to respond,” wrote Paul Vannier, Member of the European Parliament for the 5th constituency of Val-d’Oise, on social media.
The Association Agreement, which entered into force in 2000, facilitates free trade between the two parties across several economic sectors. However, Article 2 of the agreement stipulates that the partnership is based “on respect for human rights and democratic principles.” “The citizens of the European Union cannot tolerate the EU maintaining an agreement that helps legitimize and finance an entity committing crimes against humanity and war crimes,” wrote the petition’s authors.
The two criteria required for the European Commission to be compelled to respond to this European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) have now been met: exceeding one million signatures and reaching the minimum signature threshold in at least seven countries, determined by population size.
