Algerian Parliamentary Delegation Received by Turkish Presidency Secretary-General

An Algerian parliamentary delegation from the Algeria-Türkiye Parliamentary Friendship Group, led by its president Messaoud Kasri, was received Wednesday in Ankara by the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Hakki Susmaz, according to a statement from the People’s National Assembly (lower house of Parliament).

The meeting, which took place on Tuesday at the Turkish Presidential Complex, was attended by Algeria’s ambassador to Türkiye Boumediene Guennad. It addressed the state of bilateral relations and opportunities to strengthen them, particularly “given the momentum these relations are seeing thanks to the strong political commitment of both presidents.” Both sides stressed “the important role that parliamentary friendship groups play in realizing this commitment and fostering closer ties between the two brotherly peoples.” “The Algerian parliamentary delegation toured various facilities of the Presidential Complex, beginning with a visit to the complex’s library, where they explored its different sections and received explanations about its functions and the services it provides to the public, as well as its extensive reference and knowledge collections.” The delegation also “visited the Presidential Complex museum and viewed exhibits highlighting several important political milestones in the history of the Republic of Türkiye.” Subsequently, “the Algerian parliamentary delegation proceeded to the headquarters of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, where they were welcomed in the plenary session hall and greeted by the session president and members of parliament.”
