The editorial of the latest edition of El Djeïch magazine underscored Algeria’s unwavering commitment to preserving national sovereignty, strengthening economic resilience, and pursuing comprehensive development, while drawing inspiration from the sacrifices of the martyrs of the liberation struggle and the legacy of the glorious November Revolution.
The editorial stated that this month coincides with the commemoration of the National Day of Memory and the eighty-first anniversary of the massacres of 8 May 1945, atrocities that exposed the brutality and savagery of the French colonial occupier. At the same time, those events demonstrated the Algerian people’s unbreakable determination, their rejection of oppression and injustice, and their readiness to sacrifice everything for freedom and liberation from colonial domination. The magazine described those massacres as the spark that ignited the glorious November Revolution.
According to the editorial, that immortal struggle continues to inspire Algeria as it advances on the path of growth, progress, and dignity within the framework of a victorious new Algeria. It stressed that the country continues to overcome obstacles through the loyalty of its citizens, the sincerity of intentions, the determination of its people, and their deep awareness of the nobility of the mission and the weight of responsibility.
The magazine highlighted that the new Algeria has achieved successive victories, particularly in the field of national development, earning the trust of Algerians through profound transformations in various sectors. It pointed to unprecedented dynamism in the economic sphere across mining, industry, housing, transport, agriculture, and the rapidly expanding start-up ecosystem.
The editorial added that these sectors are witnessing accelerated growth thanks to major projects already operational and others nearing completion, alongside ongoing efforts to encourage investment and diversify the national economy within an increasingly attractive business climate. It further noted that Algeria’s economic growth has been recognised by major international financial and economic institutions.
According to the publication, these achievements are the result of decisive reforms and measures that enabled economic recovery and placed the country on a steady course towards becoming an emerging economy.
In this regard, the editorial cited the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who affirmed that Algeria is facing the challenges of building economic resilience and strengthening the foundations of its sovereignty amid turbulent regional and international conditions.
President Tebboune stressed that Algeria has chosen a path centred on consolidating the national economy through major structural and integrated achievements as part of a multidimensional strategic development project. He stated that this project is being implemented through sincere national will and constant vigilance in protecting the interests of the state while serving a people who believe in a victorious Algeria built through collective participation and the fulfilment of the aspirations of Algerian men and women.
The editorial emphasised that the achievements realised so far reflect a firm political determination to establish a strong, balanced, and sustainable economy capable of meeting the aspirations of citizens and reinforcing Algeria’s standing as an influential actor in Africa, the Mediterranean region, and internationally.
It further noted that Algeria’s growing international stature is reflected in the increasing number of heads of state and high-level foreign military and civilian delegations visiting the country. According to the magazine, this demonstrates the confidence Algeria enjoys as a force for peace and stability and as a reliable partner in confronting regional and international security challenges, particularly terrorism and organised crime in all its forms.
The editorial stressed that these developments are taking place amid profound geopolitical shifts and changing balances of power within an increasingly complex and interconnected global environment.
In this context, the publication highlighted the continued efforts of the People’s National Army, worthy heir to the National Liberation Army, to strengthen its operational readiness and modernise its equipment and capabilities in order to maintain its ability to confront present and future threats and safeguard the country from all dangers.
The editorial also quoted General Saïd Chanegriha, Delegate Minister to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, who stated that the standing of nations today no longer depends solely on geostrategic potential, but also on their capacity to consolidate popular and economic resilience, adapt defence systems, and develop scientific and technological capabilities.
General Chanegriha further emphasised that foresight in planning, flexibility in decision-making, and the ability to mobilise national resources and comparative advantages constitute essential guarantees for maintaining an active role in an unstable and constantly evolving world.
The editorial concluded by affirming that the Algerian people fully understand that completing the national revival project requires the mobilisation and solidarity of all Algerians around the supreme interests of the homeland. It also stressed the importance of maintaining vigilance against hostile schemes targeting Algeria, both openly and covertly, while continuing the national march with determination, awareness, and resolve towards a prosperous future for an Algeria that builds its strength with its own hands and imposes its place through its own sovereign will.
