Moldova: Presidential election heads to runoff

CHISINAU – The second round of the presidential election in Moldova will be held on November 3, as none of the candidates received more than 50% of the votes, announced the head of the Central Electoral Commission, Angelica Karaman, on Monday.
After counting 98.56% of the ballots, outgoing President Maia Sandu received 42.07% of the votes, while former General Prosecutor Alexandr Stoianoglo garnered 26.27%. Renato Usatîi, leader of the Our Party, came in third with 13.72% of the votes.
