Polish President Calls for Participation in NATO Nuclear Sharing Program

Polish President Karol Nawrocki has stated that Poland should be given the opportunity to host foreign nuclear weapons on its territory and develop its own nuclear energy capabilities. Speaking to LCI television, Nawrocki emphasized that Poland must strengthen its role within NATO and safeguard its national security.
“As the president of Poland, I believe that it should participate in the Nuclear Sharing program,” Nawrocki said, underlining his support for closer integration into NATO’s nuclear framework. He also highlighted the importance of investing in nuclear technologies, including atomic energy, to ensure the country’s energy independence and defense readiness.
While supporting the idea of nuclear participation, Nawrocki clarified that it was “too early to speak” about Poland seeking to obtain its own nuclear weapons. His remarks come amid heightened security concerns in Eastern Europe, as NATO members continue to reassess their defense strategies in response to regional and global threats.
