Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina Explore Bilateral Cooperation in Renewable Energy and Mining

ALGIERS — The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mining and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Arkab received, on Monday, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Algeria, Bojana Kondic Panic, with whom he examined the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, according to a ministry statement.

 Held at the ministry headquarters in the presence of its executives, this meeting was an opportunity to review “the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation relations between Algeria and the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in the fields of energy, mining and renewable energy, emphasizing the new dynamic instilled thanks to the visit of the Bosnian Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry, Vedran Lakic to Algeria last February,” the same source said.

The discussions also focused on “the distinguished level of cooperation between the National Electricity and Gas Distribution Company (Sonelgaz) and the Bosnian national company “Energo invest” as well as on the prospects for developing cooperation between the Sonatrach group and Bosnian operators in the hydrocarbon sector.”

The two parties also discussed opportunities for joint investment in the fields of mining and related manufacturing industries, as well as renewable energy projects, exchange of experiences and expertise and technical training, the statement added.

In this regard, the two parties reaffirmed “their commitment to continue strengthening the strategic economic partnership between the two nations, through concrete projects contributing to the achievement of common economic interests.”
