Northern Nigeria: 23 Killed in Terrorist and Criminal Attacks

At least 23 people, including three children, were killed Tuesday in three separate attacks attributed to terrorists and criminal gangs in northern Nigeria, media reported Wednesday, citing two UN reports.
According to the same sources, Boko Haram terrorists killed 11 people during a raid on a village in Borno State (northeast), while 12 others lost their lives in attacks carried out by criminal gangs, commonly referred to as “bandits,” targeting two villages in Zamfara State (northwest).
The terrorist attack occurred in the locality of Pubago, in the Rumirgo administrative area of Borno State. “Eleven people were killed,” one of the reports stated.
The two bandit attacks targeted the villages of Rumbuki and Nikai, in the Bukkuyum administrative area of Zamfara State, according to the second report.
The assailants stormed Rumbuki on motorcycles, “killing nine people and injuring eight others,” while several residents remain missing.
They also attacked the nearby village of Nikai, where “three children” were killed, the same source added.
