Iran Says US Has Become “Greatest Threat” to International Peace and Security

Iran is “not a bandit but a fighter against bandits,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei said, accusing the United States of positioning itself as “the greatest threat to international peace and security.”
In statements addressing regional tensions and international relations, Baghaei stressed that Tehran maintains continuous contacts with China, describing Beijing as one of Iran’s strategic partners and an influential member of the United Nations Security Council.
The Iranian spokesman also addressed the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the maritime passage remained open until February 28 and arguing that the current tensions stem from the aggressive actions of the United States and the Zionist entity.
Baghaei further emphasized that regional security should be guaranteed by countries of the region themselves rather than by foreign military forces, asserting that security arrangements based on external military presence only deepen instability in the Middle East.
