Hawaii : Two Dead, 22 Injured in Fireworks Accident in Honolulu on New Year’s Day

At least two people have died, and 22 others have been injured in a fireworks accident in Honolulu on New Year’s Day. The explosion occurred in the Salt Lake-Aliamanu area early in the morning.

According to Hawaii News Now, emergency responders from the police, fire department, and EMS rushed to the scene. Medical personnel suspect the explosion started when a 14-year-old boy accidentally set off a firework in his hand. He was treated on-site before being transferred to a trauma center for further care.

The Honolulu police have advised residents to avoid the area of Keaka Drive while the authorities work to secure the scene and provide care.
