Ending Zionist Entity’s Impunity: The Hague Group Convenes 35 Countries to “Promote Coordinated Action”

The Hague Group, co-chaired by South Africa and Colombia, has convened an emergency meeting on Wednesday in The Hague on the situation in Palestine to “promote coordinated state action” aimed at “ending impunity” for the Zionist entity.

“As Israel unilaterally expands its presence in the occupied West Bank through measures widely condemned as de facto annexation and once again severely restricts the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza (…) South Africa and Colombia, as co-chairs of The Hague Group, will bring together governments from around the world in The Hague on March 4, 2026, to promote coordinated and concrete state action to end impunity, reduce complicity, and uphold international law,” the group said in a statement.

At least 35 countries have confirmed their participation, including China, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Uruguay, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Egypt, Malaysia, Indonesia, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

The meeting will be attended by the ambassadors of these states in The Hague, as well as representatives accredited to the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.

The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, also announced her participation. “The time has come for a decolonized multilateralism, grounded in universal rights and obligations, applied with integrity and free from double standards,” she wrote on social media.

The March 4 meeting is the fourth major gathering organized by The Hague Group, which coordinated conferences in The Hague, Bogotá, and New York in 2025. Its stated objective is to move “from words to action” and preserve the integrity of the international legal system.

Several participating governments have begun implementing legal measures at the national level. These include banning military and dual-use exports to the Zionist entity, denying the transfer of Zionist weapons through national ports, prohibiting vessels transporting arms to the Zionist entity under national flags, reviewing public contracts to prevent institutions and public funds from supporting what they describe as the illegal occupation of Palestine, pursuing prosecutions for international crimes, and supporting universal jurisdiction to hold perpetrators accountable.

The group said the March 4 meeting will assess implementation of these measures and examine proposals to “strengthen transnational enforcement mechanisms necessary to address the material factors facilitating genocide and war crimes.”

A parallel event is scheduled to take place next Saturday in Amsterdam at the initiative of civil society organizations supporting the Palestinian cause. Titled “The Nakba Has Never Ended – Peoples’ Congress in Support of The Hague Group,” it is expected to feature environmental activist Greta Thunberg, Francesca Albanese, and former UK Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn.

The Hague Group was established in January 2025 to coordinate governmental actions aimed at increasing economic and political pressure on the Zionist entity.
