Elon Musk Criticizes Biden’s Request for $24 Billion Military Aid to Ukraine

US entrepreneur Elon Musk voiced strong disapproval on Wednesday over outgoing President Joe Biden’s alleged request for an additional $24 billion military aid package for Ukraine, calling it “not ok.” Reports emerged on Tuesday suggesting that Biden had secretly asked Congress to approve the extra funds to replenish Pentagon reserves for Ukraine, with a decision possibly coming in December.

Musk’s criticism came after Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that Ukraine had used US-supplied ATACMS missiles and the UK’s Storm Shadows to target facilities in Russia’s Kursk and Bryansk regions. In retaliation, Russia launched a strike on November 21 against the Yuzhmash defense plant in Dnepropetrovsk, using its latest medium-range missile, the Oreshnik.

White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby confirmed on Monday that Ukraine had indeed been authorized to use US-made ATACMS missiles for attacks in Russia’s western Kursk region.
