Algerian Minister of State, FM, received by the President of Angola

LUANDA – Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf was received on Saturday in Luanda by the President of Angola, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, during his official visit as a special envoy of the Algerian President.

According to the Algerian ministry’s statement, the Minister of State delivered a written message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to President Lourenço, conveying his greetings and expressing his desire to continue their shared efforts to further strengthen the bonds of friendship, cooperation, and solidarity between the two countries.

The discussions covered various aspects of the distinguished relations between Algeria and Angola, as well as ways to revitalise them in preparation for the upcoming high-level bilateral events, said the statement, noting that “this reflects the strong commitment of both leaders to deepen bilateral cooperation across all sectors and enhance coordination at all levels.”

Additionally, the two sides addressed key issues on the African Union’s agenda, with Algeria reaffirming its readiness to offer all forms of support to President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço as he prepares to assume the rotating presidency of the continental organization starting in February.
