Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and Arican Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks on Saturday with the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

The meeting was on the sidelines of the second day of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

During the meeting, Attaf reaffirmed Algeria’s solidarity and full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of the attacks it was subjected to amid the military escalation in the Arabian Gulf region. In this context, he recalled the position expressed by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during his telephone conversation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two ministers also discussed the latest developments in the region in light of the ceasefire agreement between the concerned parties, the statement said, adding that they expressed their hope that this agreement would serve as a starting point for reaching final solutions that ensure the return of security and stability to the entire region.

At the bilateral level, the two ministers reviewed the notable momentum characterizing the partnership between the two countries, particularly in its economic dimension, emphasizing the need to further strengthen this cooperation, as part of ongoing preparations for the first session of the Algerian–Saudi Higher Coordination Council.
