U.S. Warns of Pakistan’s Expanding Missile Threat

A senior White House official has warned that Pakistan is advancing its long-range ballistic missile capabilities, potentially enabling it to strike targets beyond South Asia, including the United States.
Deputy National Security Adviser Jon Finer disclosed the developments during a speech at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, describing Pakistan’s pursuit of advanced missile systems as a growing threat to Washington.
The revelation comes amid strained U.S.-Pakistan relations and follows new U.S. sanctions targeting Islamabad’s missile program. Finer noted that if these advancements continue, they could signal a shift in Pakistan’s long-standing defense strategy traditionally focused on countering India.
The disclosure underscores concerns about Islamabad’s strategic ambitions and its impact on global security.
