Russia and China will hold routine exercises as part of the Northern/Interaction 2024 drills in the Sea of Japan and Sea of Okhotsk later this month, the Chinese Ministry of National Defence announced on Monday.
According to the Chinese News Agency Xinhua, the joint drills “aim to deepen strategic cooperation between the two sides and strengthen their ability to respond to security threats.”
The ministry also announced that Chinese and Russian naval fleets will conduct their fifth joint maritime patrol in the Pacific Ocean. In return, the Chinese navy will participate in Russia’s “Ocean-2024” strategic exercise, added the same source.
