Pope Leo XIV Renews Ceasefire Appeal, Condemns Child Deaths in Gaza

Pope Leo XIV called for a ceasefire in Gaza and urged full respect for international humanitarian law.
“In the Gaza Strip, the cries of mothers and fathers are heard, desperately clutching the bodies of their dead children,” the Pope said during his weekly homily in St. Peter’s Square on Wednesday.
He added, “I renew my appeal to those responsible… to stop the fighting and fully respect humanitarian law.”
