Palestinian Film No Other Land Wins Best Documentary at 97th Academy Awards

Los Angeles – The Palestinian documentary No Other Land won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature at the 97th Academy Awards, highlighting the struggles of Palestinians in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, under Zionist occupation.

Directed by Palestinian activist Basil Adra, the film documents the forced displacement of Palestinian families, the demolition of homes, and the ongoing Zionist military occupation in Masafer Yatta. It also tells the story of a Palestinian family expelled from their home due to Zionist settlement expansion.

After accepting the award at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Adra stated: “No Other Land reflects the harsh reality we have endured for decades. We continue to resist and call on the world to take serious action against the injustice and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.”

Adra, who recently became a father, added: “My hope for my daughter is that she will not have to live the life I am living now—constantly fearing settler violence, home demolitions, and forced displacement.”
