OIC Slams Deliberate Killing of Journalists in Gaza by Zionist Occupation
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Tuesday strongly condemned the Zionist occupation’s deliberate killing of six journalists by targeting their tent in Gaza City last Sunday.
The OIC affirmed that this crime constitutes a blatant attack on press freedom and a violation of international laws protecting media and journalistic work, according to Wafa news agency.
It confirmed that this crime is part of a systematic pattern of violations committed by the occupation forces against media outlets and their workers in the occupied Palestinian territories, which has resulted in the killing of 242 journalists since October 7, 2023, in an attempt to silence the truth and prevent it from reaching global public opinion, Wafa added.
In this regard, the OIC called for an immediate investigation and accountability, urging relevant international institutions to take urgent action to end the deliberate targeting of journalists and to ensure their protection in accordance with international humanitarian law and relevant international conventions.
