Namibia Reaffirms Support for Western Sahara in Talks with Sahrawi Envoy

President of Namibia Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah received at the Presidential Palace in Windhoek Sahrawi envoy Ubbi Boushraya Bashir, who delivered a message from Brahim Ghali addressing recent developments in the Western Sahara issue and bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the Sahrawi envoy briefed the Namibian leader on the latest developments in the decolonization process and reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening ties between the two countries. The discussions also highlighted the importance of continued coordination and consultation on the Sahrawi issue at the international level.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah welcomed the visit, describing it as a reflection of the strong and longstanding relations between Namibia and the Sahrawi Republic. She reiterated her country’s support for efforts led by the United Nations to advance the decolonization process.

For his part, Ubbi Boushraya expressed appreciation for Namibia’s consistent support, emphasizing that it reflects the country’s adherence to the principles of African solidarity, justice, and the right of peoples to self-determination.
