Jewish Activists Launch Hunger Strike in Chicago to Protest Zionist Genocide in Gaza
NEW YORK – Jewish activists in Chicago, Illinois, have launched an open-ended hunger strike to protest the ongoing massacres committed by the Zionist occupation in the Gaza Strip. The action, led by members of the Jewish Voice for Peace organization—including academics and community leaders—seeks to draw attention to the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza and to pressure Washington to halt military aid to the Zionist entity.
According to WAFA’s correspondent, the hunger strikers are calling for an end to the U.S. arms exports that fuel Zionist military operations and the lifting of the food and medicine blockade on Gaza, which has deepened the humanitarian crisis. Activists voiced support for legislation introduced in the U.S. Congress to stop arms shipments to the Zionist entity.
The hunger strike coincided with a large rally in Chicago, where demonstrators demanded a complete halt to U.S. weapons supplies to the Zionist entity and urgent relief for Palestinians in Gaza. The protest included participation from university students and Congresswoman Dalia Ramirez, one of the key sponsors of the “Stop Arming Israel” bill, which has garnered growing support amid mounting outrage over the violence.
