Iran Warns It Will Block Maritime Trade if US Naval Blockade Continues in Gulf Region

Iran has warned that it will not allow any maritime trade in the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, and Red Sea if the United States maintains what it described as an “illegal naval blockade” in the region.

According to the commander of the Central Military Staff, if the United States continues to threaten Iranian merchant ships and oil tankers, such actions would constitute a violation of the ceasefire agreement. He stressed that Tehran would respond firmly to defend its sovereignty and national interests.

Iranian military officials reiterated that the country will act decisively to protect its territorial and maritime rights, signaling a potential escalation in regional tensions if naval restrictions persist in key shipping corridors vital to global energy and trade flows.
