Iran Accuses IAEA of Complicity in Zionist Attack on Its Nuclear Facilities

TEHRAN – Iran has accused the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of complicity in last Friday’s Zionist attack on its territory. The accusation was made by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei in a post on X, in response to recent comments by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

Grossi had stated: “We have found no evidence of a systematic effort [by Iran] to develop a nuclear weapon.” His remarks came after the release of an IAEA report accusing Iran of failing to comply with certain obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), a report that was published just before the Zionist aggression.

Baqaei criticized Grossi’s recognition of Iran’s non-military nuclear activity as belated, arguing that this key detail should have appeared earlier in IAEA assessments. He accused the agency of omitting this fact in what he called a “completely biased” report that served as the basis for a resolution accusing Iran of non-compliance.

“It’s too late, Mr. Grossi,” Baqaei wrote. “You concealed this truth in your biased report, which was then weaponized by the E3/US to craft a resolution based on baseless accusations of ‘non-compliance.’”

He added that the resolution was later used by “a genocidal and warmongering regime” as a final pretext to launch an illegal military attack on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.

Tehran confirmed that the Zionist strikes caused civilian casualties and damage to its nuclear infrastructure, labeling the operation as an act of aggression. As of now, neither the IAEA nor Director General Grossi has issued an official response to the Iranian accusations.
