Gaza-Bound Flotilla Advances Through Greek Waters as Additional Vessels Prepare to Join

Officials from the Global Sumud Flotilla said four boats from the Freedom Flotilla Coalition are currently sailing through Greek territorial waters after departing from the Italian port of Syracuse last Saturday, carrying humanitarian aid bound for the Gaza Strip.
According to a statement, the vessels are navigating between the Peloponnese Peninsula and the island of Crete. Meanwhile, 32 additional boats affiliated with the flotilla are positioned off the southern coast of Crete, awaiting coordinated instructions as part of the next phase of the mission.
Preparations are also underway in Marmaris, where more vessels are expected to join the flotilla. Organizers said logistical arrangements are nearly complete, while training activities for activists continue ahead of departure, though no specific timeline has been announced.
Officials noted that weather conditions and navigation strategies are being closely assessed before merging the various flotilla groups for the final leg toward Gaza. The movement of the vessels is being monitored in real time through the coalition’s tracking platform.
