Death Toll Rises to 46 After Massive Explosion at Rajaee Port in Southern Iran

Mehrdad Hassanzadeh, director general of the Hormozgan crisis management department, confirmed on Monday that 46 individuals have died following the powerful explosion at Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran.
Hassanzadeh reported that 1,072 injured individuals have been discharged from hospitals, while 138 others remain hospitalized. Nine of the more seriously injured victims have been transferred to hospitals outside Hormozgan Province for specialized treatment.
Iranian authorities have established a special team to investigate the cause of the explosion, though no specific details have yet been made public. The massive blast, which struck on Saturday, caused extensive damage to one of Rajaee Port’s 23 piers. The port, covering an area of about 2,400 hectares, is one of Iran’s largest, handling an annual cargo capacity of 70 million tons.
