Algerian President Offers Condolences Following Death of Artist Abdelmadjid Meskoud

ALGIERS, May 14, 2026 — The Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune sent a message of condolences to the family of artist Abdelmadjid Meskoud, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 73, noting that with his passing, the Chaabi music scene, particularly in Algiers, loses one of its renowned figures who left a lasting mark on this musical genre.
The condolence message read: “It is with deep emotion that I learned of the passing of the late Abdelmadjid Meskoud to the mercy of Almighty God, may He grant him forgiveness and mercy.
