Zionist entity officially ends UNRWA agreement amid looming famine in Gaza

The Zionist entity officially notified the United Nations on Monday that it was cancelling the agreement with UNRWA after banning the agency from operating in occupied Palestine.

The legislation sparked international condemnation amid concerns that it will worsen the already dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, as the ban will significantly hinder the agency’s ability to operate in both Gaza and the West Bank.

In the meantime, the World Food Programme (WFP) warned that the humanitarian situation in Gaza “could soon escalate into famine” as the Zionist occupation forces continue restricting the entry of food and other supplies into the enclave.

On Saturday, Martin Frick, the director of the WFP office in Berlin, reiterated that the functions of UNRWA cannot be replaced, such as the administration of emergency shelters, schools, and health centres.

Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist occupation’s genocide in Gaza has resulted in the martyrdom of at least 43,341 Palestinians and 102,105 wounded.
