Western Sahara : Belgian Delegation Reaffirms Solidarity with Sahrawi People

ALGIERS – The Sahrawi Minister of Culture, Moussa Selma, received on Wednesday a delegation from the Belgian Committee for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, in a meeting that reaffirmed Belgium’s grassroots support for the Sahrawi cause and explored avenues for enhanced cultural cooperation.

The discussions highlighted the vital role of international solidarity movements in raising global awareness about the Sahrawi people’s struggle for self-determination and independence, particularly amid ongoing repression in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

Both parties also addressed the need to break the media and security blockade imposed on the occupied Sahrawi cities and discussed mechanisms to support Sahrawi cultural and institutional structures. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepening cooperation in the cultural sphere and reinforcing international advocacy for the Sahrawi cause.
