USA: New Fire Rages North of Los Angeles

A new wildfire broke out on Wednesday north of Los Angeles, prompting evacuation orders in an area already grappling with the aftermath of devastating fires. The flames swiftly spread around Castaic Lake, consuming 1,400 acres in less than two hours.
The fire has been intensified by the hot, dry Santa Ana winds sweeping through the region, which are pushing a large plume of smoke and embers above the blaze. Evacuation orders have been issued for areas surrounding the lake, located approximately 50 kilometers north of Los Angeles, near the city of Santa Clarita.
Television footage shows police patrolling neighborhoods to encourage residents to evacuate their homes. Southern California remains on high alert following massive wildfires that ravaged parts of Los Angeles, resulting in over 27 fatalities and the destruction of more than 15,000 structures.
