UN Demands “Immediate” Release of Two Gaza Flotilla Activists Detained by Zionist Entity

The United Nations demanded Wednesday the “immediate” release of the Brazilian Thiago Avila and the Spaniard Saïf Abu Keshek, pro-Palestinian activists of the Gaza flotilla, arrested by the Zionist army off the coast of Greece along with some 175 other activists of many nationalities, all subsequently released.

The Zionist entity “must immediately and unconditionally release Saïf Abu Keshek and Thiago Avila,” said Thameen Al-Kheetan, spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, citing reports that both activists are being subjected to “serious mistreatment.” The detention of these two activists in Zionist jails was extended Tuesday for the second time. Spain and Brazil have demanded their release.

Madrid condemned their arrest in international waters, describing it as “completely illegal” and “unacceptable.” A rally in support of the flotilla was organized Tuesday in Paris, at the call of several French associations in solidarity with Palestine, to demand the “immediate” release of those arrested, the end of the genocide and to demand the lifting of the blockade imposed on Gaza.
