The UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy Arrives at Sahrawi Refugee Camps

The Personal Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Western Sahara, Staffan de Mistura, arrived on Sunday at the Sahrawi refugee camps, the Sahara Press Service (SPS) reported.

This visit by de Mistura is the fifth of its kind and comes as part of meetings with the Sahrawi authorities to discuss the situation and prospects of the peace process sponsored by the United Nations in Western Sahara, the source said.

The visit program includes meetings with a group of Sahrawi youth and members of the Sahrawi national leadership, culminating in official consultations between the President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic and Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, and the UN envoy, Staffan de Mistura, the source added.
