ALGIERS – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced on Sunday the launch of political dialogue, in line with his previous commitment, expressing hope that the “national dialogue will be deep, inclusive, and free from rhetorical repetition.”
In a speech delivered before both chambers of Parliament at the Palace of Nations in Algiers, President Tebboune said this commitment “reflects the political will to establish a new approach to public affairs management and uphold the principles of good governance.”
The president emphasised that this institutional practice revitalises and strengthens the service to public opinion, citizens, and the nation. Moreover, it reflects the importance of the legislative branch and the role of parliamentarians in carrying the hopes and concerns of the people.
“This meeting takes place in the early months of my second presidential term, during which we will continue to build on the achievements made to preserve the dignity of citizens, improve living conditions, and implement programs for economic and social development,” President Tebboune said.
The Algerian President announced that this phase will mark the launch of political dialogue, as promised, which will meet internal challenges.
“I promised the political class to open a dialogue to strengthen the internal front, and it will be organised,” he said, expressing hope that the dialogue “will be deep, inclusive, and free from rhetorical repetition.”
The president stressed that the dialogue would reinforce fundamental rights through laws enshrined in the constitution and the organic law concerning political parties and associations.
