Sonatrach and Turkey’s RÖNESANS Sign Major Partnership Agreement

ALGIERS – An investment agreement was signed for a propane dehydrogenation and polypropylene production project in Turkey during a ceremony held at Sonatrach’s headquarters, attended by the CEOs of both companies, Rachid Hachichi and Erman Ilıcak. According to a statement by Sonatrach, this project includes an industrial complex consisting of a propane dehydrogenation unit, a polypropylene production unit, as well as shared units (facilities for utilities and storage).

The project will be implemented in the “Ceyhan” petrochemical industrial zone in the Adana province of Turkey. Sonatrach, through its international subsidiary “Sonatrach Petroleum Investment Corp,” will hold a 34% stake in the project and will supply the raw material, propane, under a long-term agreement based on global market prices.

On the other hand, RÖNESANS Holding will contribute 66% to the project. The propane dehydrogenation and polypropylene production project in Turkey falls within Sonatrach’s strategy to expand and diversify its international operations, especially by adding value to hydrocarbons, particularly in the field of petrochemicals.
