Russian FM Blames Zionist Policies for Deteriorating Middle East Crisis

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the ongoing crisis in the Middle East is worsening due to Zionist aggressive militaristic policies, which are backed by the United States. In an interview with Rossiiskaya Gazeta, Lavrov emphasized that the situation continues to deteriorate as a result of Zionist actions, combined with Washington’s attempts to control the mediation process while disregarding the decisions made by the UN Security Council. He noted that these decisions were adopted with international consensus.

Lavrov criticized Zionist approach to security, claiming that its efforts to ensure its safety at the expense of others, while enjoying unwavering U.S. support, will have long-lasting negative consequences. This dynamic, according to Lavrov, will harm “relations between the Zionist entity and the Islamic world for many years”. He further stated that resolving the Palestinian conflict is key to improving the overall situation in the Middle East, including Lebanon.

Lavrov called for an end to external forces trying to impose terms on the region, arguing that local countries must be empowered to lead the resolution efforts.
