Russia, Iran to Draft Plans for New Nuclear Plants, Russian Energy Minister Says

A joint working group of Russia and Iran will prepare proposals for the construction of new nuclear power plants in Iran within three months, Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev announced.

“We are continuing the construction of the second and third units of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, and now we are additionally discussing options for the construction of high-power and low-power units. To do this, we have set up a joint working group, which should bring its proposals to us for approval in three months,” Tsivilev said during a meeting of the Russian-Iranian intergovernmental commission.
