Russia-India-China Triangle Remains Crucial for Strengthening Sovereignty, Says Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized the ongoing importance of the Russia-India-China triangle in an interview with RT. He highlighted that the foundation of this alliance is built on principles of sovereignty, self-reliance, and mutual benefit. Lavrov noted that Russia’s strategic shift to the East aims to strengthen ties with major powers like China and India, focusing on a long-term vision of cooperation spanning the next 10-20 years.

Despite potential contradictions between China and India, Lavrov suggested that Russia could play a moderating role between these rising powers, particularly in terms of economic strength. This collaborative direction, he said, is centered around reinforcing national sovereignty and maximizing the use of domestic resources for development, all while fostering equal and mutually beneficial relations with neighbors and partners.

Lavrov further pointed out that the Russia-China-India triangle, which was organizationally formed by Yevgeny Primakov in the late 1990s, continues to function as a crucial element of global diplomacy and stability.
