Putin Meets Iran’s Top Diplomat in St. Petersburg, Pledges Efforts for Middle East Peace

Vladimir Putin held talks in St. Petersburg with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during which he stated that Russia would do everything in its power, alongside regional countries, to help restore peace in the Middle East as soon as possible.

Putin said he had received a message from Mojtaba Khamenei and conveyed his best wishes in return. He also praised the Iranian people, describing them as courageously defending their sovereignty, and expressed hope that Iran would overcome its current difficulties and return to stability and peace.

For his part, Araghchi said he was pleased to meet Putin in St. Petersburg, describing relations between Russia and Iran as a strategic partnership that would continue to strengthen. He thanked Russia for its support, and stated that the Iranian people, having shown resilience in the face of US pressure, would successfully weather the current challenges.
