Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, arrived Thursday in the province of Constantine for a working and inspection visit marked by the launch of two major infrastructure projects: a new university hospital center and a large sports complex.
During his visit, President Tebboune laid the foundation stone for the new 500-bed university hospital center, a strategic health project covering a total surface area of 20 hectares. The facility will house 24 specialized medical departments and a 1,000-seat teaching unit, reinforcing Constantine’s role as a regional hub for advanced medical services and university training.
The President also inaugurated the construction works of a new multi-disciplinary sports complex designed to elevate the province’s athletic infrastructure. The project features a main football stadium, two training fields, a 60-bed residence for athletes, and an Olympic swimming pool with a 3,000-seat capacity. The complex will additionally include a 2,000-seat multi-purpose sports hall, three tennis courts, a parking area for 3,500 vehicles, and a dedicated energy hub.
President Tebboune’s visit to Constantine reflects the government’s commitment to supporting regional development, enhancing public services, and promoting sports infrastructure across the country.
