President Tebboune Addresses Winners of Innovative Researcher Prize

ALGIERS, April 16, 2026 – The Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on Thursday sent a message on the occasion of honoring the winners of the 2nd edition of the President of the Republic Prize for the Innovative Researcher, coinciding with the celebration of Knowledge Day, read on his behalf by the Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb.

“Your gathering today at the ‘Chahid Abdelhafid Ihaddaden’ Scientific and Technological Hub in Sidi Abdellah is not merely an academic occasion, but an explicit expression of the State’s orientation and the will of its institutions, which are consistently working to consolidate Algeria’s position among countries that produce knowledge rather than consume it, and that master technology rather than merely import it,” the President of the Republic stated in his message.

He added that “this meeting coincides with Knowledge Day, celebrated on April 16 each year, when we respectfully recall the legacy of Imam Abdelhamid Ben Badis, who early understood that the battle for liberation begins in schools, and that building the individual is the solid foundation for the construction of nations.”

“The President of the Republic Prize for the Innovative Researcher is not merely a distinction, but a message from a State that believes in its competencies and the embodiment of a clear will to link scientific research to economic development, through supporting innovation, encouraging patent registration, accompanying the creation of start-ups, and establishing an incubation ecosystem that enables the researcher to transform his idea into a product proudly bearing the label ‘Innovate in Algeria’,” the President of the Republic affirmed.
