Lavrov Warns of Rising Global Threats, Declining Prospects for Palestinian Statehood

Russia has issued a strong warning over what it describes as growing geopolitical instability, with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accusing certain powers of attempting to “dominate the world by unleashing wars” and increasing security threats across Eurasia. His remarks come amid escalating global tensions and renewed disputes over the international order.

Lavrov also expressed pessimism regarding the future of Palestinian statehood, stating that the chances of establishing a viable Palestinian state are “getting lower” in the current geopolitical climate. He argued that ongoing regional dynamics and international divisions are undermining long-standing diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the Palestinian issue.

In further comments, the Russian foreign minister accused what he called “chaos backers” in the Middle East of seeking to fragment the Islamic world, warning that such strategies are deepening instability across the region. He stressed that Russia will continue to oppose any efforts that contribute to fragmentation or escalation.

Reaffirming Moscow’s diplomatic position, Lavrov stated that Russia will not deviate from what he described as universal norms of international law. He added that Moscow intends to actively resist any attempts to weaken or disregard these principles on the global stage, positioning Russia as a defender of the current international legal framework.
