Iran to Rebuild Nuclear Facilities “More Powerfully,” Says Pezeshkian

Tehran will rebuild its nuclear facilities “more powerfully”, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian told state media on Sunday, adding that the country does not seek a nuclear weapon.
Pezeshkian made his comments during a visit to the country’s Atomic Energy Organization, during which he met with senior managers from Iran’s nuclear industry.
“Science lives in the minds of our scientists. If buildings and factories are destroyed, it will cause no lasting harm — we will build them again, and more powerfully,” he said, adding that Iran’s nuclear activities are “intended for solving the problems of the people, for disease, for the health of the people.”
“We have repeatedly stated that building nuclear weapons is not on our agenda — they know this — yet false claims are used to hinder our progress,” he added.
In June, the U.S. carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, which Washington claims were linked to a program aimed at developing nuclear weapons. Tehran, however, insists that its nuclear program is solely for civilian purposes.
U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that he would order fresh attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites should Tehran try to restart facilities that the United States bombed in June.
