ALGIERS – Algerian Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Ouadah, affirmed on Saturday that the dynamism witnessed at the Intra-African Trade Fair, hosted by Algeria from September 4 to 10, constitutes a “driving force” for the preparations of the upcoming edition of the African Startup Conference, scheduled for December.
In a press statement after overseeing the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Forum, held as part of the IATF 2025 at the Exhibition Palace, Ouadah emphasized that the upcoming African Startup Conference will bolster efforts to enhance African cooperation in innovation and technology, building on the momentum seen at the fair in these fields.
He added that preparations for this “important event” are underway to make the upcoming edition the largest since its launch in 2022, noting that the African Startup Conference has become “the most significant technology event on the continent.”
The Intra-African Trade Fair includes several events related to innovation, such as the “African Hub for Research and Innovation” and the “African Union Startup Program,” which will provide an additional boost to the upcoming event. According to the minister, all African countries have shown openness to strengthening intra-African cooperation in this field; however, the main challenge lies in “finding practical and effective mechanisms to realize this cooperation.”
