Algeria, Mozambique Sign Wide-Ranging Cooperation Agreements

ALGIERS – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, together with his Mozambican counterpart, Daniel Francisco Chapo, presided on Saturday over the signing ceremony of six agreements and memoranda of understanding encompassing various areas of bilateral cooperation.

The agreements include the executive cooperation program in the field of culture and arts for the period (2025–2028), signed by the Minister of Culture and Arts, Zouheir Bellalou, and the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Mozambique, Samaria Filemon.

These agreements also include a cooperation protocol between Algerian Radio and its Mozambican counterpart, signed by the Director General of Algerian Radio, Adel Salakdji, and the Director of the Mozambican Information Office, Emilia Moiane.

The two countries concluded a cooperation agreement in the field of media and communication, signed by the Minister of Communication, Mohamed Meziane, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas. Additionally, a cooperation agreement in the field of higher education and scientific research was signed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, and the Mozambican Minister of Education and Culture.

In this regard, a cooperation agreement in the field of security and public order was also signed by the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning, Brahim Merad, and the Mozambican Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Moreover, a memorandum of understanding on political consultations was signed by the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, and his Mozambican counterpart.
