Four killed in ambulance helicopter crash at hospital southwest Turkey

ANKARA – Four people were killed in southwest Turkey on Sunday when an ambulance helicopter collided with a hospital building and crashed into the ground.
The ambulance helicopter, which took off for Antalya this morning, crashed into the hospital building shortly after departure, reportedly due to dense fog.
“An ambulance helicopter serving our ministry crashed into the Mugla Training and Research Hospital while taking off and fell into an empty area. In the accident, 4 of our colleagues, including 2 pilots, 1 doctor, and 1 healthcare worker, lost their lives,” the Turkish Ministry of Health said on X.
According to the Türkiye Today newspaper, emergency response teams have been deployed to the region to assess the damage and ensure public safety.
Mugla’s regional governor, Idris Akbiyik, told reporters the helicopter first hit the fourth floor of the hospital building before crashing into the ground. No one inside the building or on the ground was hurt.
