Australia, Canada, and New Zealand Call for Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has united with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
In a joint statement released on Friday afternoon, the leaders urged The Zionist entity to heed the concerns raised by the international community.
The three leaders implored The Zionist entity to respond to the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) recent ruling that declared its occupation of Palestinian territories illegal.
“We call on Israel to respond substantively to the ICJ’s advisory opinion, ensure accountability for ongoing acts of violence against Palestinians by extremist settlers, reverse the unprecedented expansion of settlements in the West Bank—illegal under international law—and work towards a two-state solution,” the statement continued.
The leaders also flagged concerns over the escalating hostilities and rhetoric between the militant anti-Zionist group Hezbollah and The Zionist entity.
