
On Saturday, senior Algerian officials fulfilled their voting duties and unanimously agreed on the significance of this right and duty for strengthening the democratic process.
The Chief of Staff of the Algerian Army, General Saïd Chengriha, cast his ballot at Ahmed Bey School in the municipality of Oued Koriche (Algiers).
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, also fulfilled his voting duty at Ahmed Ouroua School in Bouchaoui.
Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui called on the Algerian citizens, at home and abroad, to head to the polls and actively participate in the presidential election, following his vote at Omar Hida School in Dely Ibrahim.
For his part, the President of the Constitutional Court, Omar Belhadj, underscored the importance of this presidential election to select the country’s president for the upcoming five years.
Meanwhile, the Council of the Nation’s Speaker, Salah Goudjil, described the event as historical for the country, noting that this election truly represents the new Algeria in political, democratic, socio-economic, and cultural terms.
The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, Brahim Boughali, also cast his ballot at the Abi-Ishak Brahim Tfyèche School in Beni Isguen, Ghardaïa Province, and told the press: “I have fulfilled my voting duty like all citizens to strengthen the building of a participatory democracy and to safeguard our country.”
