Algeria’s Economy Set to Grow by 4.1% in 2026 and 4.4% in 2027, Finance Bill Projects

Algeria’s economy is projected to grow by 4.1% in 2026 and 4.4% in 2027, according to the 2026 Finance Bill (PLF).

In line with the national economy’s general trend, gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to reach DZD41,878.3 billion in current values in 2026, rising to DZD45,018.4 billion in 2027 and DZD48,395.7 billion in 2028, according to figures from the 2026 Finance Bill, presented Tuesday by Finance Minister Abdelkrim Bouzred before the Finance and Budget Committee of the People’s National Assembly (Parliament’s lower house), which forecasts 4.8% growth in 2028.

Non-hydrocarbon GDP is expected to reach DZD36,286.5 billion in 2026, DZD39,578.3 billion in 2027, and DZD43,117.8 billion in 2028, with non-hydrocarbon growth projected at 4.9% in 2027 and 5% in 2028.

The macroeconomic and budgetary framework of the 2026 Finance Bill is based on forecasts for the three years 2026-2028, taking into account changes in the national and international economic context, particularly in terms of supply and demand for hydrocarbon products.

The fiscal reference price for a barrel of crude oil is estimated at USD60 for the period 2026-2028, while the market price per barrel is set at USD70.

In terms of national economic activity, the bill expects positive momentum to continue over the period 2026-2028, primarily driven by the expected performance of non-hydrocarbon sectors.
