Algeria’s Army General Meets with Deputy Secretary of Kuwaiti National Guard

Algeria’s Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), engaged in discussions on Wednesday, the fourth day of his official visit to Kuwait, with Army Corps General Hashim Abdelrazak Al-Refai, the Deputy Secretary of the Kuwaiti National Guard, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.
“On the fourth day of his official visit to the State of Kuwait, Army General Saïd Chanegriha met today, November 27, 2024, with Army Corps General Hashim Abdelrazak Al-Refai, the Deputy Secretary of the Kuwaiti National Guard,” the report indicated.
During this meeting, which included senior military officials from both nations, the parties discussed bilateral military relations and explored avenues for enhancing cooperation between their armed forces.
In his address, the Army General expressed his “joy” at visiting Kuwait, a nation that shares fraternal ties with Algeria, rooted in the historic Revolution of November 1, 1954.
“It is with immense joy that I extend my heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome extended to me and my accompanying delegation during this official visit to the brotherly State of Kuwait,” the Army General emphasized.
“I would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm the strength of the long-standing relations between our two brotherly countries, which are grounded in the glorious Revolution of November 1, 1954—a pivotal moment when our Kuwaiti brothers, both leaders and citizens, provided us with vital support, particularly His Highness the late Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, may God rest his soul, who personally chaired the fundraising committee for the National Liberation Army,” he remarked.
“In this context, Kuwait has always held a special place in the hearts of Algerians, as demonstrated by the commitment of our leaders to elevate our bilateral relations to reflect their historical depth and strategic significance,” highlighted the Chief of Staff of the ANP.
General Chanegriha praised the dynamism of the relationship between the two countries, particularly following the President of the Republic’s visit to Kuwait in February 2022.
“It is also noteworthy that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s visit to Kuwait in February 2022 has generated positive momentum for our bilateral relations, especially in terms of strengthening political coordination and consultation between our two countries, as well as enhancing Algerian-Kuwaiti cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, and investment,” stated the Army General.
“This encourages our two armies to pursue continuous actions aimed at achieving diverse military cooperation that aligns with the distinguished political rapprochement between our two nations,” he underscored.
General Hashem Abdelrazak Al-Refai, Deputy Secretary of the Kuwaiti National Guard, expressed his pleasure in meeting with the Army General. He emphasized Algeria’s role as a respected regional actor among its partners on Arab, continental, and international levels. He also expressed hope that this visit would mark a new milestone in advancing bilateral military cooperation to the anticipated level.
Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the ANP, held a one-on-one discussion with Sheikh Mubarak Hamoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Chief of the Kuwaiti National Guard.
During their meeting, both parties exchanged views on methods for implementing diverse military cooperation, reflecting the positive dynamics that characterize the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, as concluded by the statement.
