Algerian FM Receives Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum
ALGIERS – Ahmed Attaf, Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, received on Wednesday at the ministry’s headquarters the Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), Mohamed Hamel, according to a statement from the ministry.
The meeting provided an opportunity to “discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination on key issues on the agenda of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, in line with the implementation of the important conclusions from the 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government, held in March 2024 in Algiers,” the statement noted.
Both parties also addressed preparations for upcoming events and examined mechanisms to leverage these opportunities to enhance the role of natural gas in achieving sustainable development and the global energy transition, the same source concluded.
